Biography

Frédéric "Fred" Nicole, a Swiss professional climber, was born in 1970 in Vevey. At 13, he began climbing with his brother François, and by 1986, he repeated the challenging route Le Toit d'Auguste, a feat that earned him a rating of 8b+. He went on to make numerous first ascents in the 1990s, including Bain de Sang (9a) and several routes in Fontainebleau and Hueco Tanks.
