Biography

Thomas Daniel Hicks "Tommy" Eytle was a Guyanese calypso musician and actor born in Georgetown, Guyana, in 1926. He emigrated to the UK in 1951 and initially found success playing African and Caribbean music with his calypso band. Eytle gained widespread recognition for his role as Jules Tavernier in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 1990 to 1997. He passed away in Reading in 2007.
