Bebe Barron was a pioneering American film composer who, along with her husband Louis Barron, revolutionized electronic music. In 1956, she composed the first entirely electronic film score for MGM's "Forbidden Planet," paving the way for future generations of electronic musicians. Her innovative work on magnetic tape and electronic instruments helped to shape the sound of science fiction films.
