Biography

Jón "Jónsi" Þór Birgisson is an Icelandic musician and vocalist for the post-rock band Sigur Rós. Born on April 23, 1975, he's known for his distinctive use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice. Jónsi has released solo albums Go (2010) and Shiver (2020), as well as collaborated with his ex-partner Alex Somers on the scores for films like How to Train Your Dragon and We Bought a Zoo.
