Biography

B. Ruby Rich is a scholar and critic of independent, Latin American, documentary, feminist, and queer films, with a career spanning over four decades. She coined the term "New Queer Cinema" and has been a central figure in feminist film criticism, known for her work at the Film Center at the Art Institute of Chicago and as director of the New York State Council on the Arts' film program.
