Biography

Macdara Ó Fátharta is an Irish actor born on Inis Meáin, where he was raised in a historic cottage used by John Millington Synge and Padraig Pearse. He spent 20 years with the Abbey Theatre, acting in numerous plays and later adapted the novel Cré na Cille for the stage and film screen. His notable roles include Tadhg Ó Direáin in TG4's Ros na Rún and Joe in the 2017 film Song of Granite, alongside his marriage to news presenter Eileen Dunne.
