Pál Jávor was a Hungarian actor born on January 31, 1902, to a family that struggled financially and frequently relocated. During World War I, he served as a courier before being caught and returned home, and later chose not to swear allegiance to the new Romanian state in 1918. He emigrated to Denmark with free train tickets, seeking opportunities to act in Danish films, which became his first step towards becoming Hungary's first male movie star.
