Gus Wicke was a talented American bass singer and stage voice actor, best known for his iconic role as Bluto in the animated series Popeye the Sailor. He made his Broadway debut in The Big Show in 1916 and went on to perform in various harmony singing and comedy groups throughout his career. Additionally, he lent his voice to notable films such as Gulliver's Travels (1939) and Popeye the Sailor Meets Sindbad the Sailor (1936).
