Biography

William Francis Price Jr., born May 17, 1930, was a pioneering television writer and film studio executive who played key roles in shaping the "made-for-TV movie" and miniseries formats in the 1960s. As president of Columbia Pictures, he oversaw successful films like Out of Africa, Tootsie, Gandhi, and The Karate Kid, before ultimately greenlighting the infamous Howard the Duck and saving Back to the Future from obscurity.
