Biography

James Lawrence Levine was a renowned American conductor and pianist, making his debut as a soloist at age 10 with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He held esteemed leadership positions with various orchestras, including the Metropolitan Opera from 1976 to 2016, where he conducted over 2,500 performances. Levine also co-founded the Lindemann Young Artists Development Program in 1980. His career was marked by both artistic achievements and personal controversy.
