Biography

Maxim Shchyogolev was born on April 20, 1982, in Voronezh to a Soviet Army officer and a doctor. He excelled at school and studied drama at the Voronezh State Academy of Arts before being invited by Moscow Luna Theatre's director Sergey Prokhanov to join his troupe. Shchyogolev later trained under Anatoly Vasilyev at the Moscow Art Theatre's Drama Art studio, honing his craft alongside guest directors Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards.
