Biography

Ehud Barak is a former Israeli general and politician who served as prime minister from 1999 to 2001 and leader of the Labor Party twice between 1997 and 2001 and 2007 and 2011. He graduated in physics and mathematics from Hebrew University and later earned a master's in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University. A decorated military officer, Barak served as Chief of General Staff from 1991 to 1995 and was the most highly decorated soldier in Israel's history.
