Erik Baláž is a Slovakian ecologist, activist, director, and author known for his environmental work. He is the author of several notable films addressing conservation, including "The Wolf Mountains" (2013) and a trilogy on Karpaty. As a key figure in the protection of Slovakia's forests and large game reserves, Baláž has led initiatives with the Lesoochranárskym zoskupením VLK since the early 2000s. He won the Biela vrana award in 2017 for his dedication to environmental protection.
