Barbara Bush was a beloved First Lady of the United States from 1989 to 1993, married to President George H.W. Bush. She founded the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy and was known for her apolitical grandmotherly image. A devoted mother, Barbara had six children with George, including two who held high office: her husband's vice president Jeb and their son George W., the 43rd President of the United States.
