Hachiro Tako

Biography

Hachiro Tako was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, and came close to losing his vision after a childhood accident. He went on to become the professional flyweight boxing champion of Japan in 1962, earning the nickname "River Dolphin" for his distinctive hairstyle. After retiring from boxing, he transitioned to comedy and appeared in films such as Toei's The Transgressor before passing away at 44 due to a heart attack while swimming in Kanagawa Prefecture.
