Thérèse Clerc
Biography
Thérèse Clerc was a French militant feminist and activist who dedicated her life to empowering women's rights in Montreuil. From 1975, she provided clandestine abortions for women in need until the legalization of abortion under the Veil Law. She also founded the Maison des Femmes, a cultural center for women victimized by violence, which was later renamed after her passing in 2016.
