Bernard Archard

Biography

Bernard Joseph Archard was an English actor born on August 20, 1916, in Fulham, London. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and played notable roles such as Capt. Elis in "The Shadow Line" (1976), Major General Fullard in "Dad's Army" (1971), and Prof. Heiss in "The Horror of Frankenstein" (1970). A conscientious objector during WWII, he worked on Quaker land before joining the Edinburgh Festival in 1948.
