Oscar Apfel
Biography
Oscar C. Apfel was a versatile American film actor, director, screenwriter, and producer born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 17, 1878. After a stint in commerce, he adopted the stage as a profession and quickly rose to become one of the youngest stage directors in America, later directing innovative films like "The Passer-By" (1912). He transitioned back to acting, appearing in notable roles including President Malloy in "Man on the Flying Trapeze" (1935).
