Sophie Auster

Biography

Sophie Auster is an American singer/songwriter and actress, born on July 6, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York City. She began studying music at age eight and made her professional debut at nine in the film Washington Square (1997), alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh and Albert Finney. As a teenager, Auster performed jazz standards at local clubs and was part of an off-Broadway troupe. Her music career began when she recorded her first album at 16 with Brooklyn-based musicians Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp.
