Demetra Plakas

Biography

Demetra Plakas is a musician born on November 9, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to Greek immigrant parents who met in the city. She began playing drums in high school and later joined punk band Problem Dogs, releasing a single before moving to Los Angeles in 1985. There, she co-founded Pirate Radio with fellow original member Rick Radtke, before joining the influential rock band L7, for which she remains best known.
