Arthur Rankin was a notable American film actor born in New York on August 30, 1895, to actress Phyllis Rankin and later adopted by actor Harry Davenport. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWI and rejoined during WWII, before marrying Marian Mansfield and having two sons, including animator Arthur Rankin Jr. His film career included roles in "The Blood Ship" (1927) and "Enchantment" (1921).
