Raymond A. Moody Jr., born June 30, 1944, is a philosopher, psychiatrist, and author renowned for his research on near-death experiences. He earned degrees in philosophy from the University of Virginia and psychology from the University of West Georgia before becoming an M.D. at the Medical College of Georgia. His best-selling book "Life After Life" (1975) coined the term "near-death experience," exploring personal accounts of subjective phenomena encountered during NDEs.
