Mary E. Zilba was born on September 29, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio, to Lebanese and Syrian ancestry. She earned her degree in Journalism/Broadcasting from the University of Toledo and went on to compete as Miss Ohio, winning the title in 1986. Zilba later transitioned into broadcasting and television hosting before pursuing a music career, appearing in the TV series L.A. Wars in 1994.
