Virgil Andriescu was a Romanian actor and writer born on April 26, 1936, in Botoșani, Romania, where he passed away on November 20, 2025. He studied at the I.L. Caragiale Theatre Academy in Bucharest before joining Teatrul Tineretului in Piatra Neamț, and later became a prominent figure at Teatrul de Dramă din Constanța, directing from 1998 to 2000. Andriescu debuted in film with the 1968 coproduction Frumoasele vacanțe and appeared in over 50 roles throughout his career, including six leading roles in feature films.
