Richard Taylor

Biography

Richard Taylor, born February 8, 1965 in England, is a New Zealand filmmaker and founder of Wētā Workshop. He is known for his work on Peter Jackson's epic The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, for which he won four Academy Awards, including two for Make Up and Visual Effects, and two for Costume Design and Make Up. Taylor is also a naturalized New Zealand citizen, having settled in the country as a child.
