James Melton
Biography
James Melton was a popular singer in the 1920s and early 1930s, known for his sweet style of romantic songs and popular ballads. He later transitioned to an operatic career after tenor voices fell out of style. A notable highlight of his later work includes his performance as Alfredo in "Ziegfeld Follies" (1945). His singing talent was comparable to that of baritones John Charles Thomas and Nelson Eddy, who also had successful careers in both popular and operatic music.
