Renée Marcelle "Zizi" Jeanmaire was a French ballet dancer, actress, and singer born on April 29, 1924. She rose to fame in the 1950s for her iconic role as Carmen, produced in London in 1949, and went on to appear in several Hollywood films. As the wife of renowned dancer and choreographer Roland Petit, she became a prominent figure in the Paris revue scene, known for her energy and passion.
