Gideon Bachmann
Biography
Gideon Bachmann was a multifaceted artist of Jewish heritage, born in Heilbronn in 1927. His career spanned film criticism, photography, and filmmaking, with notable works including "Ciao, Federico!" (1970) and "Eine Kamera ist kein Molotow Cocktail!" (1977). Bachmann was also a key figure in the Underground Cinema movement in the US, alongside Jonas Mekas and Shirley Clarke.
