Biography

Bernard Eisenschitz is a French film critic and historian born on July 3, 1944, in Saint-Calais, France. He has made significant contributions to the field of cinema history, including editing Georges Sadoul's Histoire générale du cinéma and writing for prominent publications such as Cahiers du cinéma and La nouvelle critique. Eisenschitz is also a film director, producer, and restorer, having completed the definitive restoration of Jean Vigo's L'Atalante in 2001.
