Jim Moriarty

Biography

James Moriarty is a New Zealand actor and theatre director, recognized for his breakout role as Riki Winiata in the 1970s soap opera Close to Home. He has also gained international recognition for his performances, including a Vietnam War veteran in Michael James Manaia, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991. Moriarty has been honored with a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to drama, and has directed several productions through his organization, Te Rakau Hua O Te Wao Tapu Trust.
