Biography

Richard Percy Herbert Goolden, OBE, was a renowned British actor who spent over five decades in the profession. He is perhaps best known for his iconic portrayal of Mole in A A Milne's stage adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows. Goolden's extensive career spanned numerous genres, including classics, farce, opera bouffe, and radio, and earned him the prestigious OBE in the 1978 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
