Irma Raush

Biography

Irma Raush is a Russian actress born on April 21, 1938, into a Volga German family. She studied at the State Institute of Cinematography, where she met and married film director Andrei Tarkovsky in 1957. Raush is best known for her roles in Tarkovsky's early films, including Ivan's Childhood and Andrei Rublev, for which she won the Étoile de Cristal award in 1970. She later became a film director and children's book author.
