Jimmy MacDonald was a Scottish voice actor and sound effects pioneer, born on May 19, 1906, in Crewe, Cheshire. He became the original head of Disney's sound effects department, directing sounds for animated shorts like Mickey Mouse from 1947 to 1977. A versatile artist, MacDonald also contributed to numerous Disney cartoons, including "Humphrey the Bear" and "Mickey Mouse" roles.
