Asao Uchida

Biography

Asao Uchida was a Japanese actor born on August 1, 1920, in Pyongyang, North Korea. He began his career as a coal miner and later worked for various companies before founding the Osaka-style theater group, Osaka Gekijo Haragai, which he managed alongside his acting career. Uchida made his film debut in 1959 with NHK Television and became known for his roles in dramas such as "Tora-san, the Expert" and "The Most Dangerous Game".
