She gained international recognition for her role as Christel Weinzinger in Erik Charell's 1931 film Der Kongreß tanzt, cementing her status as a leading lady of German cinema. Harvey's successful acting career spanned the transition from silent films to talkies, earning her the nickname "sweetest girl in the world" for her performances alongside Willy Fritsch.
