Akemi Mari

Biography

Akemi Mari was a Japanese actress born on May 4, 1941, in Iwate Prefecture. She rose to fame in the 1960s with roles in films such as "By a Man's Face Shall You Know Him" and "太陽を抱く女". After a brief career as a department store model and actress, Mari transitioned to television and married film director Soemu Kinoshita in 1969. She passed away on August 8, 2017, at the age of 76 due to liver cancer.
