Biography

Mari Malek is a South Sudanese model and actress born in Wau, South Sudan, during the Second Sudanese Civil War. She migrated to Egypt with her family before settling in the United States, where she began modeling at 17 after being spotted on the street. Her breakthrough came five years later when she landed an advertising campaign with Lanvin, photographed by Steven Meisel.
