David Sanborn

Biography

David William Sanborn was an American alto saxophonist born on July 30, 1945, in Tampa, Florida. He began playing the saxophone at age 11 and released his debut album "Taking Off" in 1975, later becoming a session musician for numerous artists including Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones. Sanborn won six Grammy awards and was hailed as one of the most influential saxophonists of pop, R&B, and crossover music.
