Lanny Ross

Biography

Lanny Ross was a versatile American artist, born Lancelot Patrick Ross in Seattle, Washington, to English parents. He won the 1928 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships title as a sprinter at Yale University, where he also excelled as a soloist with the famous Yale Glee Club. A classically trained singer and pianist, Ross studied voice technique at the Juilliard School of Music before transitioning to a successful career in radio and theater.
