Biography

Makoto Fujimura is a leading figure in the "slow art" movement, bridging contemplative and expressionist styles through his traditional Japanese training. His bicultural education at Tokyo University of the Arts influenced his unique approach to Nihonga art. He has also developed innovative concepts like "Culture Care" and "Theology of Making," shaping his artistic practice. His work is deeply rooted in Eastern philosophy, particularly Sen no Rikyū's principles.
