Boris Barnet was a British-born Soviet film director, actor, and screenwriter born in Moscow in 1902. He emerged as a leading filmmaker in the 1930s, acclaimed for his pacifist story Outskirts (1933) and his influence on the Soviet spy film genre with Secret Agent, which won the Stalin Prize.
