Biography

Sheldon Harnick was a renowned American lyricist and songwriter, best known for his collaborations with composer Jerry Bock on iconic musicals such as Fiorello!, She Loves Me, and Fiddler on the Roof. Born in Chicago in 1924, Harnick's passion for music led him to study at Northwestern University and later work with various orchestras in the Chicago area. His breakthrough came when Yip Harburg discovered his talent and encouraged him to continue writing.
