Hideo Higashikokubaru is a Japanese politician and actor who rose to fame as a comedian and actor under the stage name Sonomanma Higashi. He gained notoriety for his role in Takeshi's Castle and later became governor of Miyazaki Prefecture from 2007 to 2011, before running for Governor of Tokyo and being elected to the House of Representatives in 2012.
