Donna Lynne Champlin is an American actress born on January 21, 1971, in Rochester, New York. She studied musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon University and graduated with a BFA in 1993, before winning the Princess Grace Foundation Award in Theatre in 1992. Champlin has also had notable Broadway credits, including a 2007 Obie Award for her performance in The Dark at the Top of the Stairs.
