Biography

Ernst Albrecht was a German politician and high-ranking European civil servant, serving as Minister President of Lower Saxony from 1976 to 1990. He was one of the first European civil servants appointed in 1958 and later held director-general positions within the European Commission. Albrecht's son, Ursula von der Leyen, would go on to become the President of the European Commission.
