Biography

Jill Sobule was an American singer-songwriter born on January 16, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, to a secular Jewish family. Her folk-inflected compositions often explored themes of irony, character studies, and personal struggle, drawing from her own experiences with adolescent battles and mental health. A pioneer in crowdfunding, Sobule released the album "California Years" in 2009, funded entirely by fan donations.
