Tony Buba

Biography

Tony Buba is a filmmaker and native of Braddock, Pennsylvania, whose documentaries explore the lives of working-class communities in his hometown and nearby Pittsburgh. Born in 1943, he began studying psychology before transitioning to film studies at Ohio University, earning an MFA in 1976. His early career focused on producing documentary shorts about Braddock's steel crisis, which also informed his work in advertising and television.
