Biography

Bill Keller, born January 18, 1949, is an American journalist and former executive editor of The New York Times. As the paper's executive editor from July 2003 to September 2011, he oversaw a wide range of beats, including criminal justice. Keller's reporting from the Moscow bureau from 1986 to 1991 earned him a Pulitzer Prize in 1988. He also founded The Marshall Project, a nonprofit that reports on criminal justice in the US.
