Virginia Welles

Biography

Virginia Welles was born on June 25, 1925, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Frank and Phylis Welter. She began her acting career with a screen test while visiting Hollywood for her sister's wedding, but opted instead to enroll in college drama classes, where she trained under actress Maude Adams. Welles eventually returned to Hollywood, signing a contract with Paramount Studios before taking breaks from the film industry to raise a family and pursue stage work.
