Biography

Born Robert Errol Van Orden in Los Angeles on March 6, 1931, John Smith began his career singing with the Robert Mitchell Boy Choir, appearing in films like Going My Way and The Bells of St. Mary's. He later transitioned to acting, landing small roles in We're No Angels and Circus World, as well as leading parts in NBC western series Cimarron City and Laramie.
